Eyelet curtains vs Pencil Pleat curtains
Choosing the right curtains for your room is not an easy decision. There are so many styles, fabrics, and names that could easily overwhelm the average consumer! When chosen correctly, curtains will instantly change the entire look of your space and set the desired tone of your home. One of the choices that you’ll have to face during your curtain-selection journey is the type of curtain heading you want. In this article, we will show you the differences between two of the most commonly used ones: Pencil Pleat curtains and Eyelet curtains.
Eyelet Curtains
An Eyelet curtain is a contemporary curtain heading design that consists of large metal rings at the top of the curtain instead of the classic header tape. This modern design is often floor length with soft deep pleats running in eye-catching uniform lines down the fabric.
Eyelet curtains are very easy to hang, you simply thread the pole through each of the eyelets. They can be used in living rooms, bed rooms, and dinning rooms. However, they are not suitable for curtain tracks, with valances, or for bay windows.
Eyelet curtains inject a chic, modern appeal to any room. The grommets allow the curtain to glide almost effortlessly along the rod, making opening and closing the curtains quick and easy.
Pencil Pleat Curtains
Featuring header pleats that are thin and long, similar to the size and shape of a pencil, this style of curtains are a popular choice amongst those who want their curtains to exude an air of elegance and formality.
Homeowners love the elegant opulence that pencil pleat curtains lend to their indoor spaces, and this type of curtain is often well-suited to more formal rooms, such as a formal dining room or sitting room. They are easy to hang, and they provide the aesthetic of professionally installed curtains without the cost.
At the end of the day, choosing your heading style should really come down to your personal interior easthetic and what type of look you are trying to achieve. If your budget is very strict then we reccomend opting for Eyelet curtains as they tend to be more affordable as they use less fabric, however if you want a more formal and put together look then Pencil Pleat curtains are your best bet.
