How to choose the right colour for your roller blinds
So, you’ve chosen the style of roller blind for your home and now you wondering which colour to choose? Keep reading.
Light or dark? Warm or cool colours? It can all be a bit overwhelming. As experts in the industry of ready to hang to curtains and blinds, we know the pros and cons of each combination. Which is why we are here to give you a couple of tips when it comes to colour theory and blinds.
Cool vs warm colours
Perhaps unsurprisingly, neutrals are key! Whites and greys are the most popular choice when it comes to colours in blinds because blinds often mimic a wall or flat surface area. Warmer tones are usually chosen for more of a traditional vibe. Our Atria blind in Silver & White are our most popular colours because
they go with every interior styling theme. If you are picking blinds for an investment property or a home you plan on rennovating and selling, we recommend choosing a cool neutral colour as this is seen as being timeless and more attractive to potential buyers who dont want to renovate further.
Choose colour by purpose
Different rooms in your humble abode may have different requirements. For example, picking a black coloured blind is probably not necessary in your lounge room (unless ofcourse you want the colour black for your living area) as much as it would be for your bedroom. We recomend picking a dark colour blind for areas where you will be spending the most time sleeping as darker colours will retract, and block more of the natural sunlight that comes beaming in. Now we don’t want you to get confused with ‘colour’ and ‘blockout’.
All our single and roller blind products are coated with 100% blockout, meaning if you wanted to put a white blind in your bedroom you totally can, however we reccomend picking a darker colour to offset the natural light even more so.
The same goes for your kitchen. People tend to choose white for kitchens and bathroom areas because it suits the purpose of the room and blends in with the wall more seasmlessly.
HOW TO CHOOSE?
When it comes to picking window treatments for your home, the smart way to approach it is to find a product that merges form and function with your budget requirements. In other words, it should look great, but it also needs to preform adequately in your home.
